Grief and Loss

Grief is a normal reaction to loss. It is not pathological, a disorder, nor a sign of weakness.

Grief is oh-so personal and can rock our world in so many ways. We often feel like we’re doing it “wrong” simply because it is messy, unpredictable, ever-changing, and, let’s face it, hard! No one is exempt from grief and emotional loss, but that does not make it any easier. Death, divorce, or any significant emotional loss can cause ongoing pain that is difficult to break free from.

Unresolved grief can take us “out of the moment,” causing us to
be distracted, disconnected, and lost in thought. Unresolved grief also drains us
of energy, closes our hearts, and can even lead to physical ailments.

Most of us were never taught effective tools for dealing with grief. I would like to suggest that there are indeed very effective ways to move through the pain and find peace. There are specific actions you can take to help you discover and complete unfinished emotional business, and I am here to help you with that.

As a Grief Recovery Specialist, I guide individuals and groups through an 8-week program that provides a safe and nurturing environment to heal from grief and emotional loss.
